Start with the decision

Management information should answer what changed, why it changed and whether action is required. That means agreeing definitions, reconciling source data and separating known results from estimates.

For a growing company, a consistent weekly view of cash, contribution, demand and operational exceptions is usually more useful than a sprawling monthly pack arriving too late.

Make confidence visible

Reliable reporting is candid about missing data. Estimates should be labelled, unresolved reconciliations should remain visible and recommendations should point back to evidence. Trust grows when uncertainty is handled explicitly rather than designed away.
