Identify the repeated choice
Useful product work begins by observing where people hesitate, reconcile by hand or depend on one colleague’s memory. Those moments reveal the decision a product needs to support.
Only then should teams decide which data, workflow and interface are necessary. Starting with the chart type reverses the logic and often produces an attractive archive rather than an operating tool.
Keep the evidence close
Recommendations should remain traceable to source facts. That is particularly important when software summarises financial or commercial information: a concise answer is valuable only when a user can inspect how it was reached.
